"unorganised"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital / Maternity

My wife is 9 months pregnant and we have a c-section booked in. The staff here are hit and miss, some are lovely others are very rude and condescending. My wife had an ECV which didn’t work and was very painful and distressing for her, she said casually to one doctors it was horrific and she responded with ‘labours horrific darling’ however this is not my main issue as a lot of the staff are very kind, my main issue is the lack of organisation, I have not been to this hospital without a 3 hour wait. We were called in for the c section at 7.30am, it wasn’t until close to 11am we actually started going down for the c section, I don’t understand why we were told to come in for 7.30am. The only other time we went in to the hospital we were sat around for 3 hours also, whenever you ask how long you stay the same ambiguous response ‘not long now’

Good afternoon,

Thank you for getting in touch regarding the experience you and your wife encountered with our Maternity Services, and I note the positive feedback you have shared.

I am sorry for the difficulties you experienced with waiting for the procedure without a clear explanation for why.

I am also sorry for the perceived lack of organisation.

I will share this feedback with the Maternity Services Matron so she is aware of your concerns. If you would like us to look into what happened in more detail please contact PALS on 01743 261691 so we can advise you appropriately on how best to investigate your concerns.

Kind regards

Patient Experience Team
