"Support from a productive surgery at last"

About: The Peninsula Practice

House move prompted move to this surgery, having a complex medical condition and already having severe hip pain under N.H.S Ipswich Hospital for last 14 months when joined surgery.

Consultant finally agreed to operation for a new hip joint but left the hospital 2 months later transferring my case to another consultant having already attended a pre assessment enhanced hip group and given signed consent and paperwork handed in 2 months later I had heard nothing after many phone calls from myself apparently my case was transferred to a consultant who did not want to do my op and I was on no ones list for operation, now 16 months in and can barely walk for pain I asked my G.P practice for help managing the pain and by writing to the consultants to push for a OP, finally got to see a consultant last Nov who agreed to operate but was reluctant and said his list was long although original consultant had told me it would be about 6 months which was then end of January 2019. In March

I saw a doctor who after reading my case and had put me on a regiment of serious painkillers to help wrote to the consultant horrified at how I had been treated by them and also to Express her concern on the seriousness of my health condition and the amount of medication I was having to take also the knock on effect this would have on my health and bones.

One week later I was offered a cancellation appointment for a hip operation on the 25th April. This is the first time in many years that I have come across a G.P who has put her patient first and took the time to listen and help. She has restored my faith in old fashioned patient care and got involved to help me for which I am so very grateful. .
