"Attending HARP after my stroke"

About: Ayrshire & Arran Community Services / HARP (Heart and Respiratory Patients)

(as a service user),

After my Stroke I was asked as part of my recovery would I like to attend the HARP exercise classes. I thought having an artificial leg this was not for me but I was wrong. Alison and Lesley were very aware and did not ask me to do anything that would hinder my recovery. I finished the course, my fitness was better my balance was better and I regained a lot of confidence. Thank you for your wonderful support on my road to recovery.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Harky,

It is a delight to hear how helpful 'HARP' has been for you. It is so important to be able to evidence that what they do at HARP improves recovery. I know the team welcome all feedback but it will definitely make their day knowing how this support has helped with your balance and confidence.

Best wishes with your onward recovery and thank you for sharing this with us on Care Opinion,

Best wishes,

Eunice
