"Breast lump"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Breast Services

(as the patient),

I recently found I had a lump, as you expect this came as a shock to me and to be honest the whole unknown element terrified me. My gp referred me urgently and I received my appointment within a couple of weeks. All the staff at the hospital were excellent and made such an effort to put me at ease even though I kept bursting into tears. I was given so much time to ask questions and detailed answers were given, I couldn’t fault anyone on the effort they put into their role. My journey involved a mammogram, specialist examination, ultrasound and cyst drainage, it was seamless and shows exactly how good our nhs is.

Dear Very-grateful-patient

Thank you for taking the time to post of your recent seamless journey with breast services on Care Opinion. It must have been a frightening and emotional time to discover a breast lump and undergo investigations for this.

I am delighted to hear you received an appointment quickly, following an urgent referral by your GP, and that your experience with all the staff in the breast team put you at ease and kept you informed throughout. We strive to deliver the experience you have described.

I have shared your feedback with the team this afternoon. They will be so pleased to receive this.

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards

Margaret
