I was referred to Spire South Bank Hospital for removal of my gallbladder on the 14th May 2019 after having scans revealing multiple gallstones. From consultation to pre operative assessment to actual operation, I was treated with respect, dignity and was fully informed of all risks and benefits. From the receptionists to surgeons to anaesthetist to nurses to theatre staff to catering staff, everything ran like clockwork with no rushing or pressure put on me to do things in a rushed timeframe. They gave me all the time needed to ask questions, quell any fears with complete reassurance and help was always at hand before it was even required. Having a complete discharge package with reams of information of what to expect was also extremely comforting to know what was normal and what was not. Also having a 24/7 number to call if there were any questions or problems after surgery took all my anxiety away. This has been the best ever experience I have had in a Hospital environment and even though I have been relatively fit myself up until this surgery, I have never even experienced this level of service when visiting friends or family if they have needed any treatment in other hospitals. I would strongly recommend this Hospital to anyone and am truly grateful for being referred there. I hope my health continues to be good in future years but if it ever fails me again, I can only pray that I will be lucky enough to be referred to this excellent hospital for treatment. Thank you to all the staff involved in caring for me and others. They are truly special and extremely professional. Praise and thanks just doesn't seem enough for them all.
