I cannot believe that I have had to spend over 45 minutes today trying to get through to make an appointment, only to be told to call back; as by the time I managed to get through, it was too late! I cannot fathom the lack of organisation this would take to be able to not enable callers to get through without having to wait 8 minutes or more per call; to not even manage to get through. This was a total waste of my time and I'm only glad that it wasn't for something serious, as I'd probably be dead. Also, with this being Mental Health Awareness week, you would think that they would want to ensure that calls were being picked up in good time so people would feel as though they are important and being listened to - as someone that suffers from anxiety and depression, this would have put me into a total spiral previously.

I am sorry for your experience and the length of time it has taken to respond to your comment.

Along with many GP surgeries in the country we have increasing demand every day and we are unable to answer calls as quickly as we would like to.

We are seeking to encourage patients to access us online via our website: solentgp.nhs.uk to avoid long waits on the telephone.

We are also looking for patients to join our Patient Participation Group to help us to offer a better service.
