I have Cyclic vomiting syndrome and sometimes get episodes lasting longer than a week. I was admitted by a GP from Bishop Auckland and attended ward 34 for two days then ward 62 for another night before being sent home. Ward 34 was loud and stressful but the nurses where clearly under alot if stress and kept it together perfectly. They kept me informed on everything they where doing and I saw a doctor each morning. They provided meals and refreshments at certain times and always where on call. My condition is a rare one and causes me to be unable to keep fluids and solids down. When I moved to ward 62 it was brilliant and quiet they give me medication to help with the sickness I was experiencing and kept a close eye on me. When I felt better I was allowed to walk down to the cafe with a visitor and get some fresh air. I feel like they did the best they could for me while I was staying and hope if my condition comes back (that it will) I will be able to get the same care as being at home suffering is not the best place for me. Thankyou staff and Darlington.
