"dissastisfied patient & carer"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Clinical oncology

My complaint is with the oncologists, with their matter of fact attitude, negative energy, aggressive manner at times, dismissing our suggestions, point of view and opinions, haughty attitude and rude and louzy bedside manner. They deal with cancer every day but we don't and it tears families apart. On the other hand the palliative team and nurses are lovely, despite it seems like their the under dogs to these so called superior consultants, a lot is to be said for kindness, gentleness and a listening ear that these nurses display. A big thank you too them. The oncologists ought too take a leaf out their book.

Dear Patient

I write further to your feedback and concerns you have raised about the Oncology Team. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and I am sorry to read you have had a negative experience from the Oncology Team. I was pleased to read that the Palliative Team were kind and caring. I will share this with the senior staff in the hospital so we can look at improving services for patients and relatives.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

With best wishes

Sarah, PALS Manager
