About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

i was sent as an emergency by my GP to a very busy and overcrowded A&E Department. I thought it was just precautionary but the staff took time to listen and admitted me to HASU as a potential stroke.

The staff on this unit were all hardworking, caring, compassionate and overstretched to say the least. Not only are they dealing with serious conditions but also the caring of very confused and upset elderly patients some with dementia.

Over four days including the weekend I was given CT scans MRI etc all thankfully showed I was okay but at all stages I was treated with the utmost kindness and care by the nursing teams, porters, scan staff.

The food was served tasty and with care.

My only only negative if any would be for the doctors to spend a little more time explaining what they are looking for and what treatment is needed.

I had to keep asking as I was obviously worried and when I was advised I could be discharged it was all rushed.
