"Post-natal care"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

Following a planned caesarean, I experienced internal bleeding and required emergency surgery. The care I received after this was incredible. For 3 days, I had 1:1 nursing care on the labour ward. The midwives, doctors and anaesthetists who cared for me were highly trained and professional while being friendly and caring.

I then returned to Summerfield Ward where this standard of care continued. All of the staff were supportive and approachable. However, I want to particularly mention Katie and Meg who went out of their way to reassure me when I was struggling. I’ll never forget their kindness.

Dear Diabeticmumof2,

Firstly let me congratulate you on the birth of your baby. It is very reassuring to hear that the care you received while on labour ward was, in your words incredible.

The staff who work in Labour ward will be delighted to hear this, and they really do appreciate when time is taken to thank them, especially after what must have been a difficult journey for you.

The staff in Summerfield ward will also be pleased that their hard work did not go unrecognised, especially Katie and Meg.

I will pass your comments to both areas.

Thanks again for getting in touch and may I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind Regards

Liz
