"Abdominal pain for over a year"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

Disgusted. Came to Bournemouth hospital on a wednesday evening again on the following morning for a c/t scan. I was kept waiting for about 3 hours for report. Doctor left me in the room, just left me after pager went off.

Dear Hunterwv381

We are sorry to hear that your recent experience of our services left you feeling very unhappy with the treatment you received and indeed not a standard of care we have come to expect.

Without more detail from you about your visit we are not able to confirm the reason the Dr responded to their pager in the middle of a consultation leaving you uniformed about what would happen next.

We would like to be able to offer you an explanation and understand more fully what happened so that we can prevent any kind of repeat incident like this happening in the future and would encourage you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01202 704886 or pals@rbch.nhs.uk so they can follow this up.

Once again we apologise for the negative experience you have had and hope to hear from soon.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
