"Day surgery through Endoscopy Unit"

I have today been a day patient of the Endoscopy Unit. Although hospital visits are often worrying events today has shown me that this Unit works hard to reduce the anxiety preceding and during an appointment. I cannot praise too highly the care that I received at every stage of my procedure. From appointment through admission, investigation to recovery, every stage was clearly and effectively identified and smoothly managed by informed and empathetic staff of an appropriate level. They made sure that I understood what would happen throughout the stages of the procedure to ensure that I encountered no unexpected and potentially worrying happening. Hospital appointments cannot generally be described as pleasant experiences but I have no hesitation in praising the overall joined-up professionalism, efficiency and kindness I have been the recipient of today.
