Taken to Good Hope by WMAS arrived just before 18:00 sent round to minors, which was very busy. Care I received was exceptionally good considering the pressure the staff were under, my total time at the hospital was 8hrs 40 mins
However I feel this could have been shorter had my bloods been taken on arrival ! (which has always happened on previous visits) also I was not issued with a wrist band! for ID before being given drugs, after being in the centre for 5.5hrs at 23:30 hrs my bloods were taken the Minors section of A&E then closed shortly afterwards I was moved to CDU my result took another 2.0 hrs I was then informed I need to have an injection the nurse then queried how do I know you are the correct patient without a wrist band all was explained that I did not have one ! injection was given & discharged 02:45hrs having been informed come back tomorrow to the pharmacy to collect the rest of your drugs ( again more time lost for my family having to travel from Tamworth to collect drugs)
Maybe if I had been in overnight, then discharged with drugs a lot of frustration could have been avoided.
Don't get me wrong they do a brilliant job get all the big things right then fall down on the small points which leaves you frustrated.
"Big things are right, but fall down on small points"
