"My gratitude and thankfulness"

About: General practices in Fife Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Since returning from a trip overseas I began to experience unpleasant gastric symptoms which started my journey through both Primary and Acute Health Services in NHS Fife.

Dr. Campbell at Path House Practice gave excellent advice, medication and ordered a series of tests to aid diagnosis. When symptoms didn’t ease and I felt worse, he didn’t hesitate to refer me to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

The history of my travel was taken seriously and I felt completely reassured and safe. My stay in Admission Unit 1 was short, but the professional, knowledgeable staff wasted no time in preparing me for further treatment.

I was transferred to Ward 51 where I remained for 5 days. Again, the team were extremely professional and knowledgeable. On admission, Charge Nurse Elena ensured my personal needs and wants were considered and I was treated with the utmost kindness and compassion. I was very impressed with all members of the team and nothing was ever too much bother. It was particularly warming that everyone working on the ward, on every shift, was individually named on the board as part of the team, including Christine the Domestic Assistant.

I am very grateful and extremely thankful to everyone involved in my care.
