"Visiting the GP to talk about anxiety"

About: General practices in Tayside

(as the patient),

Tay Court Surgery.

I've been seeing a GP about my anxiety for a few years now. I've rarely seen the same GP twice, and have had variable experiences with each GP I've seen. However, I recently saw a wonderful GP, who I felt really listened to me and worked with me and we created a plan together.

I felt that this GP's attention was 100% focussed on me and how to make my life and my experience as positive as possible. Previously, I've seen GPs who were obviously conscious of the time pressure of appointments and have given me limited eye contact and spent more time typing on the PC than talking with me. This was the polar opposite of that experience. This GP's manner and focus meant that I felt I could be honest about how I've been and ways in which I could be better.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience via Care Opinion. It is always lovely for staff to receive positive feedback and your kind comments have been shared with the Practice.

Kind regards.
