I have just got home from another visit to the A&E with my elderly mother.
I just want to thank the A&E staff for providing excellent care and attention to my mum and for being attentive to our concerns as a family.
This was followed by similar professionalism and attention to detail by the staff who received my mum on Aspen ward.
Its so easy in a busy hospital to loose touch with attention to detail and become flustered and short tempered but this has not been our experience.
I happen to be a nurse and with that, it would be easy to be critical or overly protective and anxious about the standard of care provided but I had no need to worry.
Alarms and requests were promptly addressed, including a special bed which replaced the hard stretcher.
My mum became acutely ill, requiring resuscitation with BiPap and a drip and the medical staff's response was quick and efficient giving her the strongest possibility of a positive outcome.
"Thank you and well done"
