My husband was treated for three years for anaemia, which morphed into full-blown leukemia, by a dedicated team in Haematology. Their skill in tackling this condition — and giving my husband an extra year of life — was impressive, but so too was their kindness and compassion. They were always very efficient, but never lost the human touch. We had every confidence in them and knew we could trust them implicitly to offer the best care. We were also grateful for the generosity of blood donors and the NHS for the many blood transfusions my husband received over those three years.
