"The ENT department need to listen to there..."

About: Barnsley Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

I have to say I haven’t had much of a great time with the ENT department in Barnsley Over the last 20 years I’ve had several suspected condition such as Ménière’s disease , Labyrinthitis all don’t seem to fit the symptoms iv been having I now don’t know what condition I have as iv never been told and limited treatment.

With in minutes of my face starting to tighten and feel full due to my Allergic rhinitis a burning sensation starts to creep in the left ear and a ringing noise along with a inflamed feeling, depending on how bad the inflammation is in my inner ear I may get unbalanced or vertigo after an hour or two. I have to sleep upright all the time in fear of feeling drunk or spinning on awaking. I have been misdiagnosed several times over the last 20 years. Iv tried telling the specialists something is agitating the inner ear and making it inflamed when the sinus is inflamed hence causing my symptoms.

When my sinus isn’t flaring up my inner ear is carlm and vertigo free. I have asked for scans to be taken when the the inner ear is inflamed to identify why my inner ear gets so agitated when my sinus flare up but was told I would just be wasting money needed for other patients.

I am now 30 years old and haven’t been able to work because of the symptoms. I have now got to the stage where I have lost all my hearing in the left ear due to the lack of the issue not being looked into in much depth as I would of liked and giving me no clear understanding of the problem I have or the cause being sorted out.

My rating is one star. Will I ever get to the bottom of the problem ? Not if the specialists don’t listen to there patients.
