"5 year old possible fracture"

About: Frome Community Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Royal United Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

My little boy had a fall one April Monday, we went to Minor Injury Unit in Frome Tuesday morning, lots of children hobbling around but we were seen within 1 hour, X-ray taken and possible fracture.   Fitted with sling and told fracture clinic at RUH, Bath would call.

We didn’t get a call but a letter and saw them a week later.   Waiting time was exceptionally small and Dr was very good at explaining to me as a parent but also talking to a 5 year old.   The RUH in Bath and the MUI in Frome have given excellent service given the cuts and shortages in all departments.   I felt completely looked after and not patronised and think the NHS staff are doing a fantastic job.   The last time I had to use the NHS was around Christmas with my 3 year old at Taunton Hospital with burst ear drum, cannot thank 111 and hospital enough for not making our Christmas a sad one.   Not sure how it is done but amazing work all around from all staff involved.   Huge thank you.

We thank you for your comments about your son's recent care at the RUH and will forward these on to the fracture clinic team who, we are sure, will be very grateful for your kind words.

We do hope that your son is recovering well.
