"Requiring emergency care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Yesterday a family member became extremely unwell and required the services of the Scottish Ambulance Services and Wishaw A&E department.

Whilst the department and staff was extremely busy we were treated with professionalism, warmth and compassion by everyone we were in contact with.

From the Ambulance crew, reception staff to the triage nurse, Donna, and the doctor (with the Harry Potter lanyard) we could not fault the care, treatment and information we received.

We would like to thank them all for taking the time to explain exactly what would happen in such a manner we could understand during such an anxious time for us.

Dear Auntie M,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience of your family members care while attending the emergency department.

The staff work extremely hard and it is always nice to receive feedback that is so positive.

I will ensure the ED team are made aware of your kind words. I hope that your family member is feeling better.

Best wishes

Andy

Dear Auntie M,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us all on CareOpinion. I am very sorry that your family member had reason to use our service and the service of our partners in the wider NHS. I do hope that they are on the road to a full recovery and please give them our best wishes.

I am however very glad to read about the positives of the experience that you all had the staff, in particular our crew. It is always good to read about situations where our staff have acted in the manner we would expect and I thank you for making sure it is highlighted on this platform.

Kind Regards

Alan
