About: Newholme Hospital

What I liked

The staff on Rowley Ward were extremely obliging and went well beyond what was expected of them to support a group of us continue with a planned reunion despite the hospitalisation of our retired tutor. I'm sure that the staff attitude is not only most commenable, but caring , compassionate and supportive of rehabilitating patients as soon as possible.

The ward environment also gave us a feeling that the staff really cared, from the tomato plants growing in the conservatory, to the provision of furniture to accommodate us all....

Thanks again.

Dear Sir/Madam,

As ward manager it is always a boost when we receive positive feedback. We do try and replicate some home conditions within the ward environment and encourage patients to become as near to home routine as possible within the confines of a ward.

This particular patient had had a re-union planned and she asked if it would possible to host it on the ward. We agreed to this and the conservatory was used for this purpose.

Nicola Tomlin

Ward Manager

Rowsley Ward (Newholme Hospital)
