"Letter to CEO of Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / Accident and emergency Royal Surrey County Hospital / Medical Oncology Royal Surrey County Hospital / Respiratory medicine Royal Surrey County Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

The purpose of this letter is to put in writing my considerable respect, praise and on-going gratitude for the extraordinary levels of professionalism, dedication and care which it has been my privilege to benefit from at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. In all the relevant departments and at all levels I have no hesitation in rating my experiences as beyond outstanding.

A quick look at my file would show that I am under the on-going care of the St. Luke’s teams, where Dr. Chaw took over from Dr. Money-Kyrle, and at the same time I am part of the CORE clinical trial with the Radiography Research team – which means I am closely monitored and regularly checked so well aware of my condition. More recently I found myself in the hands of the A and E team, the Emergency Assessment Team and the Albury Ward where the attention and treatment was exceptional. In the meantime, in 2016, I underwent a pancreatectomy and splenectomy so you will see that my experience of the Royal Surrey is quite wide!

Apart from the fantastic medical treatment and care that I have received I would like to add a special mention for the catering teams. This is a much-maligned area of hospital services but I cannot speak highly enough of the catering your hospital provides. I even “borrowed” one of your menus so that I can demonstrate to other people just how good it is!

For reasons which will be obvious I have a particular interest in the treatment that St. Luke’s provides to sufferers from prostate cancer and on my last visit I picked up a “Fabulous Fit-Out” appeal leaflet for the new urology centre. I now enclose a cheque and the relevant donation form which I would be grateful if you could forward to the appropriate person.

In closing may I repeat my thanks, respect and praise for the on-going treatment I receive at the hands of your entire team of remarkable professionals.
