"Stinks of cigarette smoke"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Every time I visit people are stating immediately outside the main doors of the Centenary building smoking which makes the whole entrance stink. This is supposed to be a hospital not the outside of a public house. This is never challenged by staff and is unhealthy for visitors and more should be done to stop this such as a ban outside all the hospital buildings, quite simple really.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. Smoking is not permitted in any of our hospitals, car parks or the grounds around the hospitals, and signage clearly stating this is displayed in public areas including outside the main entrances. However we know that there is more we can do to enforce it. We would really appreciate it if you could contact our Patient Relations team directly on 01539 716621 or at CommentsandComplaints@mbht.nhs.uk to share your ideas around this. Thank you again, and we look forward to hearing from you.
