"Climbing a mountain to get access to a service"

About: Westway Medical Centre

Getting through to attempt to gain an appointment is very difficult and without doubt a task not embraced, in 95% of cases when requesting an appt whether this be a request for an emergency or routine appt. you are advised one is not available and to call back tomorrow, which from experience this just goes on and on. Standard response is "you can always access the walk-in-centres." Primary health provision at its best? Is that what CCG's pay for? Passing on required need in a community to an external setting not even local, try telling that to someone with mobility difficulties, using public transport, not sure it sits within a caring nor responsive framework? Staff on the phone are always respectful and apologetic, can only imagine they must constantly recite sorry whilst asleep!
