"I have managed to do things that I never thought I could"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I was referred to Inclusion by my GP, after I went to see her to finally talk about having suffered with OCD for years. She referred me to Inclusion in Thurrock. I asked to see a female therapist and Inclusion organised for me to see Rebecca Tinubu for weekly appointments.

My experience has been excellent. I had been suffering with OCD for many years and didn't expect to ever get better, but I have made really significant progress in a short space of time. It was so clear that my therapist completely understood anxiety and OCD. She showed such empathy and kindness that I was able to open up about all my problems. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted and because of the confidence I had in Rebecca, I was able to expose myself to the things I feared and to learn how to refuse to give into my compulsions.

Rebecca went above and beyond her duty to help me get better and even carried out a home visit one week. Thanks to her, I have managed to do things that I never thought I could. Day-to-day life has become easier for me and I have new tools and experiences to draw on to help me manage my condition.

I cannot speak highly enough of the help I've received.

Dear Niamh

Thank you so much for sharing your story and your very kind words about how treatment has helped you.

For me, your story highlights the gradual change from anxiety that change can not or will not happen, to the realisation that you can and are, bringing about change yourself....

That change in your belief and confidence is absolutely life changing and people often describe it as feeling lighter and regaining hope. It certainly sounded that way for you.

Thank you once again for sharing your experiences and on behalf of the whole team at Inclusion Thurrock, we wish you the very best for your future.

Many thanks.

Paul
