Having been advised by my local surgery to seek help at casualty it was with great anxiety that I did as instructed. The receptionist I saw was extremely pleasant and helpful and I was pleased to be seen almost straight away...upon examination I was asked if I wanted to see the X-ray I had taken yesterday as I had broken a toe but didn’t understand exactly what the damage was.I knew that probably nothing could be done and this was reaffirmed. However my anxiety levels were high and as I spoke about the image I was told to stop interrupting so that the process could be dealt with quicker.Whilst I appreciate all the hard work that the staff do I found this response rude and patronising .I hadn’t expected nor wanted to go to James Cook but was only doing as advised earlier. Not the best experience but at least I got some answers regarding the X-ray and the doctor examined both feet so that was a positive.
"Visit to casualty on recommendation of my local..."
