"Treatment Experience"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I was referred to my GP for a growth in my nose. Got an appointment with ENT at Lincs County Hospital within a week or so. My appointment was delayed and they were unable to tell me for how long, but the receptionist was very polite about it and the staff in general were doing a good job keeping people positive. The consultant was very knowledgeable and talked about other aspects of my health too. This meant I felt like a person, rather than a condition. I managed to get blood tests done on the day and was booked in for a CT scan for two days later. After this rush, there did seem a bit of a delay getting back to me and I was unable to get through to the secretary myself. Finally got a call back with a different consultant. This guy was also very chatty and put me at ease. Now I'm just waiting for a date to have my growth lopped off. It has been a relatively quick and efficient process. Testament to the NHS staff doing the best for the patient with many constraints. Thanks Lincs County Hospital 😘

Dear initialyze

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely story with us, especially at such a worrying time for you. Its great to read that everything has gone like clock work. I really like your comment that the consultant saw you as a person and rather than a condition....brings in humanity into healthcare. Hopefully you wont have too long to wait to get the growth lopped off and wish you well for your procedure.
