"Some good new GP's"

About: Upwell Street Surgery

There were some highly experienced GP's who had excellent people skills but they have retired. Alas if a couple of the old brigade have next to zero people skills. The reception like many others is poorly managed and occasionally the receptionist can be rather condescending - but not all!. The office manager in their infinite wisdom has decided to allocate the vast proportion of appointments to people who are able to queue up at 8:30 (the surgery opens at 8:40). This is why people who are trying to book on the phone will struggle to get an appointment - especially the elderly and frail who will not be able to queue up! In the past I recall trying to call up the surgery whilst stood in reception, only to be welcomed with an engaged tone. There was no-one on the phone so clearly, the handle was off the phone (by accident or design). Whilst the review is in general pretty negative, there are a couple of newer GP's who are absolute stars. I pray and hope they don't regress to the standards (or lack off) of one of the 'experienced' incumbents.

I'm sorry to hear of your concerns with our surgery. If you would like to come in to surgery to discuss, I would be more than happy to see you. Kind regards, Sue Swift Practice Manager.
