Attended for my first antenatal scan on 5th April 2019 at 9 o'clock.. Arrived half an hour early friendly reception staff. Struggled to hold bladder prior to scan as sonographer was running 15 minutes late. Spoke to receptionist who was really polite and helpful and said she would ask the sonographer. Sonographer was asked and picked up my scan and screening card and then looked at me and proceeded to ignore the receptionist and walked away in opposite direction. Extremely rude and arrogant behaviour. An acknowledge was all that was needed or a basic response. Complete lack of communication skills and respect and care for patients. I can only commend the receptionist as she was sympathetic and friendly. This experience has put me off having my first baby at airedale hospital and i will start to look at my antenatal care elsewhere if basic communication is lacking or respect to patients how will my labour and delivery be managed.
