I was brought into ED on Tuesday morning and within 10 minutes had been assessed as triggering sepsis. As a result, within 10 minutes I had had blood tests taken and been started on treatment. The department was extremely busy but until the early staff left, the care from both the nurses and doctors was incredible and genuinely could not have been faulted. Sadly, in the evening things weren't quite so brilliant. Doctors came to see me without introducing themselves and when it was decided that I needed to be admitted, I was taken off all my monitoring and moved from my cubicle into a holding bay whilst waiting for a bed. After three and a half hours a bed was found for me and I was admitted to AMU.
