My son, who has Asperger's was brought in to A & E by ambulance and placed in a bay next to a patient with dementia. When he asked the nurse why he was with the old people, she snapped "this is the NHS, not Nuffield". This completely unnecessary comment was balanced by excellent care from the Sister and Doctor on duty but sadly our experience was marred further by a seemingly inexperienced radiologist who had been left on her own and asked my son to rotate his wrist and arm, which was impossible, and had she read and understood his notes properly, this would have been obvious to her.
"Some excellent staff, others not so"
