"Standard of care well beyond my expectations"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Wishaw / Gynaecology (Ward 13) University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as the patient),

After several different visits to Hairmyres A&E, Hairmyres EPAS, Out of Hours at Hamilton and EPAS at Wishaw, I was admitted to Ward 13 at Wishaw with a suspected ectopic pregnancy.

Whilst it was a very distressing time for me, every single member of staff I encountered over the course of 4 weeks was exceptionally kind and caring and took the time to discuss and allay any concerns both my husband and I had.

I ultimately ended up with surgery and, again every single person I encountered from admission to discharge and after care provided a standard of care well beyond my expectations. A special thanks to Dr Sophia and all of the staff on Ward 13, especially the nurses, who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, informed and even cheered me up. I'd also like to thank those at Hairmyres EPAS who were overwhelmingly supportive throughout.

Dear Lalalola

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experiences on Care Opinion. I will pass on your kind comments onto the staff at EPAS in Hairmyres and Wishaw. I was glad to read that the staff you met helped and supported you and your husband during this upsetting and distressing time.

Best Wishes

Elaine
