My GP referred me to A&E and I was nervous as (at 56) I've been lucky enough to never have been before! I did have a bit of a wait, it seemed busy when I got there, but I believe it is often a lot 'worse'. It seems relentless for the staff, who, despite the pressure they are under were very nice ( particularly the sister in triage who saw me). I was sent on to AEC and was impressed by the 'one stop shop' service. I was also impressed that when they took my blood for testing it didn't cause a bruise (I always get a bruise!). All the clinical staff seemed very caring and supportive of their patients - in my experience and observing others in waiting area.
