"Crisis team mental health"

About: Tees, Esk And Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as a service user),

My mental health has been really bad over past few weeks. My mental health worker, who doesn't work for the hospital thank God,  took me to see crisis team at the hospital.

I saw 2 people, I felt very intimidated - they made me feel worse. They asked me lots of questions then they left the room to discuss me which left me and my mental health worker in the room. 15 min later one of them came back just to ask my MH worker if they could have a word which left me feeling paranoid about what they were saying. 20 mins later they came back and said I was relying on my mental health worker and social worker too much and they should back off.

I have so much going on mental. Verbal abuse from my son in his twenties, I had to watch my mum die last year in hospital and I am financially struggling. I told the crisis team all this but feel like they don't care. I am on the edge now, I feel I can't phone crisis team if I need them. A police officer came to do welfare check early hours they got ambulance I didn't want to go midnight they said they would rather me go voluntarily.

I was put in a small room on my own not one person came to see me. I had no money, not one person asked me if I wanted a drink. 2 hours passed, eventually someone came in and said crisis team have not forgotten about me. I asked Them if I could go for fresh air they said they would check if it's OK. another 2 hrs passed no one came so I went out not one person sat at the desk noticed I had gone. There was 3 people sat around if they were busy I would understand but they weren't at 5 o'clock Monday morning. Eventually someone from crisis team came to see me only to be told to go see my GP and get my meds increased. I feel like mental health no one cares my MH worker was hoping they would give me home treatment team but nothing from them.

They have no compassion. Why are they in that job? I could of walked out and ended my life and they would not of noticed. I have suicidal thoughts all the time I feel so let down to the point I hate waking up every morning.

Thank you for providing further information. I'm very sorry that you don't feel that you can access The A&E Department at Harrogate District Hospital anymore. I will forward your concerns to the Crisis Team Manager and the Head of Service for Adult Mental Health and post their response in due course.

Dear wezenns74

I’m sorry to hear you feel you have been let down and unable to use the Harrogate Crisis Team and Harrogate A&E Department following the support received at your recent contact with these teams. I would like to look into your concerns to enable us to learn from your experience and would appreciate it if you would contact Matthew Thompson on our Patient and Carer Experience Team on 0191 333 3566 or at matthewthompson1@nhs.net and provide him with your details so that we can discuss these with you and the teams in more detail. If you’d rather not speak to us directly we could investigate these concerns based on the date you attended A&E if you’d like to confirm these details.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi wezenns74

If you can speak to your Mental Health worker and attempt to find out the dates and get back to me and leave only the dates on here or at my details below that would be most beneficial. You don't need to leave any personal information.
