"No information from anyone"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Urology (Ward 11c)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter has had 2 inpatient admissions under urology this year and cystoscopy as an out patient. We have had no follow up or contact from anyone since the cystoscopy and when contacting the surgeon's secretary I have been told the waiting list at the moment is 8-9 MONTHS.

GP are no help in relation to current issues because as far as they and the doctor we saw in IAU at the QEUH are concerned my daughter needs review from urology and we should just wait on the outpatient appointment.

I understand that the NHS are understaffed and waiting lists are extensive but this can not be a realistic waiting time??

Dear Angry Parent 1

I can appreciate the frustration you and your daughter will be feeling while waiting for an outpatient appointment and the lack of communication regarding this.

There are a number of services who have lengthy waiting lists and patients are waiting longer than we would hope and we apologise for this.

Can you ask your daughter to contact me with her personal details so that we look into her particular case regarding timescales and appointments? My email address is Nicole.McInally@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Thank you

Nicole
