"Kindness and care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

One day in April after midnight my husband  had to contact the ambulance service as I was experiencing what I though were the symptoms of a heart attack,

within 10 min i had 2 lovely paramedics at my bedside reassuring me that they were here to help

i was treated with such care  and all through the tests i was advised as to what was happening and why .

thankfully  my symptoms were not a heart attack  and i felt rather ashamed that i had taken up there valuable time , they could have not been nicer and i was reassured that we had done the right thing phoning .

so thank you to E0017485 and E9887792 . so proud of our NHS .

Hi Sheendog,

Thank you for getting in touch to share your story and for the lovely compliments about our crew. Having been in the same situation with my dad a few years ago, I know it must have been a very worrying time and a really scary experience for you and your husband.

It is great to hear that our staff were able to reassure you and even better news that it turned out to not be a heart attack as first feared. You've got absolutely nothing to feel ashamed about and we are here to help! You did exactly the right thing in phoning us.

Our two crew members will be really pleased to hear that you are doing ok and will really appreciate you taking the time to say such kind words about the care they provided. I'll make sure we get this feedback to them.

Thanks again and I hope you and your husband have a great Easter weekend.

All the best,

Mark
