"CHAOTIC NEW CALL CENTRE OUTPATIENTS BOOKING system"

Moorfields Eye Hospital has changed its appointment system to the detriment of people with FAILING EYESIGHT. Previously would see consultant, follow up appointment arranged immediately by clinic clerk.This is changed, Consultant sends email to call centre recommending an appointment for patient mentioning if urgent or future date let's say 6/8 weeks In my case Consultant sent email while I was with her for my appointment to have urgent injection.That was two weeks ago and still no appointment. This new system is clearly not working in patients favour.and people with failing eyesight are paying the price with this CHAOTIC system. Moorfields pplease put patients first. I don't know what to do know what to do, am very worried about losing my eyesight.

If you are concerned about your eyes, please speak to your GP or optician in the first instance.

They will be able to advise on whether you need more specialist care and refer you as appropriate.

If you require urgent advice, please visit your nearest A&E department or the A&E at Moorfields Eye Hospital in City Road, London. Our A&E is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and specialises in eye emergencies.

Alternatively, you can contact our nurse-led advice line on 020 7566 2345. This line is staffed by trained eye specialists and is open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. Please note that during busy times we might not be able to answer your call straight away - please bear with us and call back a little later if this happens.
