"Shambles!!"

About: Hammersmith Hospital

I arrived at the pharmacy at 4pm for a simple prescription after seeing a doctor at Queen Charlotte's. I was told at the time that the pharmacy is over run and therefore there will be a two hour wait at least and therefore to come back at 6. I had no other option than to wait as I needed the medication and I couldn't take the prescription elsewhere. After two hours of waiting, and post the waiting number exceeding one given to me, I joined the collection queue which already had numerous unhappy patients due to the long wait and no one in charge giving any adequate responses. One lady was annoyed after a long wait to be told they could not dispense her medication. After half an hour of watching people go up and down the stairs without addressing those in queue (including people who's numbers had been called out) I got to the front of the queue. When I asked about my prescription, the gentleman went to the back to find out and came back with my prescription only to tell me the product had been discontinued. Apparently they had called out my number earlier but I wasn't around. Surprising that since I was told to come back after two hours at the earliest. Despite that I was back after an hour. So unless they called out my number in the first hour, which I hugely doubt since they were 30 prescriptions ahead of mine when I arrived, they didn't actually make much of an effort to contact me. My contact number was on the form and at no point was that utlised. So after waiting 2 5 hours for a prescription that was Needed I was told I needed another prescription. It is now 6:30pm... where do I go looking for a doctor for another prescription?! Whilst this situation has aggravated me to write this review, the reality is the service here has Never been prompt in my recent yesrs of coming to Hammersmith. There is never less than an hour's wait. I do not understand why they are always overrun, understaffed? And why on earth do we get given presecriptions that bind us to this shoddy excuse of a pharmacy in the first instance? Note to management: Improve the service or issue open prescriptions which can be dispensed by Any pharmacy. There is no excuse for this level of unacceptable service!
