"A & E"

About: Leighton Hospital / Accident and emergency

On Friday the 29th of March my wife was sent by ambulance from the care hoem where she had a fall to Leighton A&E it was explained that she was brought in to ensure her ankle wasn't broken. At 81 this could be dodgy. We arrived at A&E at 5.50pm and they decided to x-ray her ankle at 11.15 PM approximately. For around 5 hours she lay on a trolley in a corridor and around 10 minutes after the x-ray was told the ambulance is coming to take her back to the home, the ankle was not broken. I find this an insult to any human being more so an 81 year old on the end of life programme. It's about time this hospital got it's act tigether and treated people as human beings and not just a digit on a conveyor belt
