I was admitted to ward 9 after having gyne surgery. I felt the nurses were to busy and obviously not aware of my needs to care for me adequately. Why they have take gyne away from ward 16 is wrong I feel, as I believe the staff in ward 9 are unaware or too busy to help support me. There were many things wrong such as my cathetor was overflowing and It was the patient in the bed next to me that told me. I had no fluid balance chat. No support washing post surgery, was constantly sore until the pain team who was so nice came, he listened and made sure my medicines were changed and given regularly also the pharmacist made sure my regular meds were also added. The student nurse on ward 9 and domestic staff and auxiliaries when they were available were the ones that i felt provided the majority of my care.
