Six weeks ago, early on a Saturday evening, I accidentally dropped a very heavy object on my left ankle and thought I had broken it. I went immediately to the nearest medical facility, Chard Community Hospital, and was treated by ENP Kerry - who quickly and professionally patched me up - before I transferred to the area hospital for X-ray. It was determined it wasn't broken but very badly bruised and some lacerations. Six weeks later on, the lacerations have unfortunately, not healed well and become infected. I went back to Chard Community Hospital one evening earlier this week as the wound was very unpleasant. The receptionist, Tina, was very quick to arrange me to see the on duty ENP - which again was Kerry - who remembered me from 6 week ago and who quickly helped clean up the wound and apply honey as an anti-bacterial agent and new dressings. I had to revisit again later that week and again quickly and professionally aided by ENP Kerry and HCA Eleanor.
I really would like to commend the excellent service that was provided by the Minor Injury and Illness Unit at Chard Community Hospital - special mention must be made of ENP Kerry's great help on all 3 occasions - her professionalism helped a lot on the initial assessment and more recently in helping to put my wound back on a good path to healing (& hopefully full recovery). Please pass on my appreciation to all mentioned - all are great ambassadors of the NHS.
"Great ambassadors of the NHS."
