What I liked
I was referred to Southampton Eye Dept from Salisbury Hospital and arrived at 07:30hrs as an urgent case. By 10.15hrs I was operated on and by 11.30hrs I was ready to leave. Throughout my short stay, I was kept informed as to what was happening, the staff worked well together and I have nothing but praise for the level of care I received.
Thank you !
What could be improved
I arrived at the hospital on my own and was told to bring in an overnight bag as I might need to stay. The waiting area had nowhere to leave a handbag, purse, etc, never mind an overnight bag, so I was told to leave everything on a chair in the waiting area.
A small row of lockers might be an idea for people who arrive unaccompanied so at least keys, etc could be kept safe.
"Excellent, professional, caring - would highly..."
