"5 Day stint following a Heart Attack"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Accident and emergency

I arrived at the A&E Dept on the 28th March following an episode of chest pain earlier in the day - my GP advised I attend for the Troponin Blood Test for speedy results.

The test came back worse than imagined (confirming that I had had a Heart Attack) and I was admitted to the hospital by the 'Majors' unit behind A&E.

I spent a night in the Assessment Ward and was then moved to Cardiology Ward 23.

I had an Angiogram/Angioplasty on the Monday 1st April where they fitted a Stent. I will arrive back in a few weeks for a 2nd Stent to be inserted.

I would just like to say that I felt the entire process was well handled and I felt in safe hands at all times.

The Nursing care on Ward 23 and in the Cardiac Catheterization Unit was exceptional.

I have written to the Chief Executive for the Trust to express my satisfaction.
