"Failure to provide ordered online prescriptions"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

I have used their online repeat prescription service twice now and on each occasions there has been issues.

1st time they did not complete the order and I ended up without insulin which is needed to keep me alive. When challenged about this I was told it was a mistake and sorry but someone had not completed the order.

2nd time they left me without medication to control my bladder incontinence which is embarrassing when at work. Its as if these people are playing with peoples lives and don't seem to understand about the effects that their failures cause. They then threaten me with expulsion from the surgery if I complain again. It is not acceptable! They seem to forget that other people work for a living too and are not all at home retired or on the dole. It is not just a case of dropping down to pick the prescription up as I work long hours and cant get to a pharmacy until a weekend so if the surgery mess up an order then I am left for a week at least before being able to collect another prescription. Whilst I understand that people make mistakes, communication costs nothing and a quick email to ask what I had ordered would have solved this issue quickly instead of me not hearing anything.

and then being left frustrated and annoyed that I had not received the items I required. As I said previously this is peoples lives that the surgery affects and they need to understand the ramifications of their actions on what is supposed to be a professional and organised service.

Please don't bother as it wont change anything. I think some staff need to learn to accept responsibility when they mess up and their response was totally uncalled for. The actions of one member off staff have fundamentally breached my trust and confidence in the surgery. I now feel that I will not receive unbiased support and medical assistance so will do my best not to attend the surgery for anything. If this affects my requirement to obtain medication in the future then so be it. I refuse to back down on this as it is not the first time it has happened.
