"Excellent care in Ward 64 at the Southern General"

About: Southern General Hospital / Neurology University Hospital Monklands / Neurology

(as the patient),

I was transferred from Monklands hospital to the Southern General hospital for spinal surgery.

The care that I received in Ward 64 in at the end of last year at the Southern General was fantastic. Nursing and medical staff took the time to discuss my treatment and care with me, and I was involved in decision-making at every level. I know how busy nurses are, yet they never seemed rushed or too busy to answer questions.

My consultant, Mr Mathieson, took time to explain and discuss my treatment options.

I was also very impressed with the cleanliness of the ward.

The domestic deserves a medal for keeping the ward as clean as she did.

All of the staff I met were cheerful and friendly, and I'm taking this opportunity to thank them all very much for the wonderful care I received.
