"Heart attack"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Wishaw / Cardiology (Ward 4)

(as the patient),

I should like to express my thanks to the paramedics who, through their training and professionalism, were able to restart my heart one night in March. A visit for chest pains turned into a full blown emergency when my heart unexpectedly stopped. Their efforts and refusal to give up were successful in restarting my heart allowing me to reach Hairmyres Hospital where stents were successfully inserted in a blocked artery. I don't know who they were but they are my unsung heroes and I would be most grateful if you could pass to them my undying thanks. Without their efforts I wouldn't be writing this appreciation.

Dear Lantares,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback with us here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about your experience. That must have been terrifying for all involved.

I am so happy to hear about our crews efforts though. It is incredible what the staff can do and they do it with this being a perfect example. I would love to get in contact with the crew and pass on your thanks. Maybe you would like to do that yourself? If you could contact me at alan.martin2@nhs.net it would be great to have a chat and I can get the information I would need to trace the job.

I hope you are on the road to a full recovery and I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
