"Kings international private patients services Guthrie ward"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Nephrology

(as the patient),

I am a patient here since March 2019 who came in the ward after my kidney removal surgery.   The staff over the weekend was so rude and non professional.   The staff member who came to help me for washing and changing gown was so rude. They was continuously posing and passing remarks as if I was a burden for them. I felt it and tried to wash and change myself which wasn't easy for me to do.

if for pain I had to press calling button; it seemed I have done something wrong.   My urine  bag was full of urine aND a staff came to take me for chest x-ray,  said the bad needs to be empty but the same person refused to do it.   They murmured that I can go to toilet and do it. then the other nurse who came to do my OBS emptied it. I felt insulted and a burden not a patient

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with staff on Guthrie Ward and will certainly be passing your comments onto the Ward Manager and Matron as I know they will wish to follow up with staff.

I hope you are recovering well from surgery.

Thank you for taking the time for comment - it's very helpful for us to hear about these experiences so that we can address issues raised.
