"I’m in awe of you all"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I cannot praise the Maternity Staff/Obstetrics Staff at the QMC Nottingham enough.

I was induced at the beginning of March, but when it became clear that the baby’s heartbeat wasn’t what it should have been, I had to have an emergency cesarean under general anaesthetic. Obviously it was a terrifying time, but the staff were so lovely and efficient, from the Midwife that stayed with me and worked through her break to look after me on the Labour Suite, (Alison I think her name was), to the Anaesthetist who was so reassuring and calming just as I was about to be put to sleep. Everyone worked incredibly hard to make sure that both me and my baby were safe.

A mention too for my Consultant Mr Bugg and his team, all of the staff on Ward C29, and everyone else involved in both the operating theatre and on the wards. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of your hard work and effort, I’m in awe of you all.

Thank you so, so much,

Thanks so much for your lovely message. It is great to hear that both you and your baby are safe and well. Very many congratulations. I am so glad to hear that everyone you met was able to help you feel that you and your baby were in very safe hands. I’ll share your kind words with my colleagues in Labour Suite, theatres and on Ward C29, as well of course as Mr Bugg.

Best wishes from us all

Janine Kettle

Deputy Matron, QMC Maternity
