I have been attending the eye services at this hospital for close to 2 years (previously UHB) I have found the outpatient department services swift, all staff knowledgable and respectful also extremely friendly in their care of me. Not sure if I have been lucky but my wait times in clinch have been mercifully short unlike the previous care provider. I would also like to acknowledge the reception staff who are always so helpful which is brilliant given they are usually the first people patients have contact with.
I recently has surgery for glaucoma in the day surgery unit (08.03.19) and I cannot commend the staff highly enough from the nursing team to theatre ODP’s and to the fantastic work of one particular consultant. One particular nurse on the unit was particulary attentive and made it clear she enjoyed her job and the care was giving was what her role was about. I was so nervous however at very interaction all staff were attentive, caring and importantly respectful of my every need. Team work and humour were very much in evidence and the Trust should be proud to have staff such as these. My thanks were given directly verbally to staff and via cards,
I also used social media to flag the excellent care at this site. I hope management join me in my praise. I trained as a nurse years ago and remain on the register my experience led me to reflect on my past experiences and this would certainly be the type of team I would be proud to work with.
"Excellent service by a wonderful team"
