"Discharged with sound advice and pain killers"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Trauma & orthopaedics University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My son injured his hand in a self defence assault and attended Wishaw general  He was seen within 40 minutes and directed to the minor injuries department. The nurse Laura gave him pain killers before she assessed him and requested an X-ray. Which showed he had broken a bone

Everything was explained to us and was made sure we understood what was happening.

The orthopaedic dr who I can’t for the life of me remember her name  came and seen us. A stooky was put on  and we were discharged with sound advice and pain killers
The service was excellent and very efficient.
Thanks

Dear Carolf76,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience of your sons care during a visit to the ED.

I am delighted that the feedback that you have given is positive and the staff will also really be delighted to read your kind words.

I hope that he is recovering well.

Best wishes

Andy
